Completion of Task 2.4: Rapid prototyping of the Adjusted Grooved Feed Section (AGFS)

In November–December 2025, the tenth secondment within the PROMATAI project took place.
The host organisation was the Technical University of Kosice (TUK, Slovakia), which welcomed representatives of three beneficiaries: the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Polymer Materials (IEP, Poland – 4 people), Cerca Trova Ltd. (CET, Bulgaria – 2 people), and Dirmeta UAB (DIR, Lithuania – 3 people).

The visitors were given a tour of TUK’s laboratories. All secondees, together with TUK researchers, worked on Task 2.4 “Rapid Prototyping of the AGFS.” The team focused on rapid prototyping techniques, converting digital models, preparing them for 3D printing, and manufacturing physical models.

The virtual AGFS model developed in Task 2.2 was adapted for 3D printing using FDM technology. The virtual AGFS was divided into several parts, which were printed separately and then assembled into the final AGFS model. As a result, a 1:1 scale 3D model of a universal AGFS was produced from the structural polymer PET-G.

The versatility of the model lies in its ability to modify the number of grooves, their width, and the inclination angle/depth. The correctness of the physical model, its kinematics, and collision-free movements were successfully verified.
