In October-November 2024, the fifth secondment of PROMATAI project participants took place. The host organization was the LPH a.s. (LPH, Slovakia), which hosted representatives of three beneficiaries: Łukasiewicz Research Network – the Institute of Engineering of Polymer Materials and Dyes (IEP, Poland – 5 people), Lublin University of Technology (LUT, Poland – 3 people), and University of West Attica (UWA, Greece – 6 people).
The guests were given a tour of the production facilities of the LPH company in Poprad and Vranov nad Topľou. All secondees and LPH representatives worked on Task 1.5 “Rapid Prototyping of the FOS”. Representatives of the Technical University of Košice (TUK), who have extensive experience in rapid prototyping and the necessary equipment, also participated in the task. The teams focused on rapid prototyping techniques, converting digital models, implementing them into a 3D printer, and making models. The virtual models developed in task 1.3 were adapted for 3D printing using the FDM technology. Then four 3D models of FOS were printed from structural polymer material Polycarbonate (PC) at a scale of 1:1 - one standard FOS and three FOS of a special design, which were developed in the project. After printing, the correctness of the obtained models and non-collision with virtual models were verified. Task 1.5 has been fully completed. On the one hand, each secondee gained new experience and skills and on the other hand, made a significant contribution to the fulfillment of the assigned task.
