Workshop Training on "Lab to Market – From Research to Innovation" Held in Slovakia

Breadcrumbs

On June 12, 2025, a workshop training titled "Lab to Market – From Research to Innovation" was held at the Zelená Lagúna Hotel (Domaša Dobrá, Slovakia), as part of the PROMATAI project. The event was organized with the support of project partner LPH a.s.

The workshop brought together 23 scientists and industry representatives – 19 on site and 4 online – from Poland, Slovakia, Greece, and Lithuania. The goal was to facilitate knowledge exchange and explore the practical aspects of moving research results toward real-world innovation and commercial application.

Participants engaged in discussions across three interdisciplinary topics:

  • Structure and Properties of Materials as a Crucial Problem in Energy Absorbers' Design – Experimental and Numerical Study
  • Machine Learning Methodology
  • Technology Transfer

These themes reflect the core challenges and opportunities faced by researchers and engineers when bridging the gap between laboratory research and industrial implementation. They are also critical for promoting innovation, increasing the practical value of scientific discoveries, and supporting sustainable growth in advanced manufacturing sectors.

As part of the training, attendees had the opportunity to visit the production facilities of LPH a.s. in Vranov nad Topľou, where they gained insights into real-world industrial processes and the potential for applying advanced materials.

The workshop fostered new ideas and strengthened cooperation between academia and industry, reinforcing the PROMATAI project’s mission of promoting interdisciplinary research and innovation across Europe.
